Adopt Me: Messi, a 6 month old Black Male Labrador, who is looking for her forever home.

"Meet Messi!

Messi is an adorable, 6 month old black Lab puppy with a very sweet personality.  Messi loves to snuggle on the couch with his people and get rubbed and scratched all over; he adores affection.  Messi also loves to play.  He gets along very well with my black Lab and plays with him every chance he gets, and will play tug-of-war with the frisbee on the way back with it after retrieving it. He chases a frisbee and a ball and will return them to you.  Messi passes his down-time sleeping and chewing on bones. So far he has not shown any destructive chewing behavior, but he has been provided with plenty of toys to chew on and play with.   He is potty trained and knows how to use a doggie door.  

Messi walks well on a leash (a work in progress) and goes for walks daily early in the morning before it gets hot.  He is becoming used to getting his feet and legs rinsed off daily in the shower after his walk in the desert.  He is learning the commands to ”come" and “heel," as well as “load" in the car; he loads and travels well.   He comes when he is called.  He knows the command "sit" and "down" (lay down) as well as “no."   He seems to want to please his people and he is a quick learner.  He kennels well and sleeps through the night.  He does not counter surf or jump on people, but he still has a puppy brain and gets distracted easily.  Messi needs further work to become a good canine citizen, but he has a great start toward that goal.  He is full of life, constantly makes me laugh with his puppy antics, and is an adorable ball of fur and would love to share his life with his furever home. "

Adopt Me: Stella, a 9-11 month old Female Yellow Labrador, who is looking for her forever home.

"Meet Stella!
Stella is an adorable petite yellow Lab puppy, with a sweet spirit and endless playful energy. She loves playing fetch and frisbee, going for walks, and entertaining herself with toys while staying close by your side as you work. When playtime is over, Stella's favorite place to be is curled up next to her people for snuggles and affection.
Like any young puppy, Stella is still learning the ropes. She's crate trained, sleeps through the night, and is potty trained, although she still has the occasional accident and does best with regular potty breaks every one to two hours. Stella is very smart and listens well, but her puppy curiosity means she can get distracted easily. She already knows "sit" and should pick up additional commands quickly with consistent training.
Stella is still working on her manners. She pulls on the leash during walks and can jump up or mouth when she gets excited. She's also learning how to read other dogs' signals and sometimes annoys them with her puppy exuberance. With patience, structure, and positive reinforcement, Stella has all the potential to become an incredible companion.
Because she is still learning how to regulate her excitement and needs continued training, Stella would do best with a family that has experience with younger, energetic dogs. In the right home, this affectionate, intelligent, and fun-loving girl is sure to blossom into an amazing lifelong friend.

Pending: Penelope, a 1 year old Female Yellow Labrador, who is looking for her forever home.

"Meet Penelope! 🤍🐾

Penelope is a beautiful 1-year-old white Lab with a heart full of love and a fun-loving puppy spirit! She bonds quickly with her people and is happiest when she's by your side—whether that's cuddling on the couch, following you around the house, or enthusiastically plopping herself onto the bed or furniture to be as close to you as possible.

She's already off to a great start with her manners. Penelope is doing very well with potty training, knows how to use a doggy door, walks nicely on a leash, and understands basic commands like "sit" and "no." While she isn't especially food motivated, she's highly responsive to encouragement, affection, and verbal praise, making her an eager learner and a joy to work with.

Like many young dogs, Penelope still has plenty of playful puppy energy and will do best with an active family who can continue helping her grow into the amazing companion she's meant to be.

Penelope bonds quickly with her family and takes her job of protecting them seriously. She can be vocal when meeting strangers and will benefit from an adopter who can help her build confidence and learn to settle when new people arrive. With patience, consistency, and positive guidance, she's already shown she's eager to learn and wants to do the right thing.

Penelope has not yet been crate trained, and we're working on her being comfortable in her kennel. Her future family should be prepared to continue working on that skill with her. She has also not yet been introduced to other dogs or cats while in foster care, but previously did live with other dogs and a cat.
