Surrendering your dog can be a difficult process, for both you and your Labrador. Las Vegas Labrador Rescue is here to assist if we can. We also offer in-home counseling on identifying solutions and suggestions to keep your Labrador.
In order to surrender to LVLR, your dog must:

- Be a Labrador Retriever;
- Be up to date on vaccinations;
- Provide a senior wellness examination from your Vet if over 7 years old;
- Not be a candidate for euthanasia
- Not be people or dog aggressive, or have extensive behavioral issues
- Must live within city limits of Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Henderson, Summerlin or Boulder City

The surrender process can be lengthy, as we have a long list of Labradors currently waiting for placement to the program and we rely on volunteer foster homes to commit to a Lab's intake. Foster home availability fluctuates monthly, so if you need immediate placement, we may not be able to assist. Please be prepared to spend 10 to 15 minutes of your time completing the application, and it will take between 1 to 3 business days for us to evaluate and respond to your request. Please be as thorough and honest as possible in the application, as this will determine eligibility. We strongly suggest gathering all medical records, as we will ask for them. While anticipated medical needs and costs are not a reason for us to decline a Labrador, we do need to have as much information as possible to make a decision.
Before any Labrador is accepted into the program, it will undergo an in-home assessment by a LVLR volunteer. This in-home evaluation will be scheduled with you only after the Labrador has been identified as a possible suitable candidate. No Labrador will be accepted into the program until the evaluation has been completed, all documentation checked for validity and a discussion with your vet has occurred. Please note, we do not take the Labrador into our possession at the assessment, it is strictly for evaluations.
If your Labrador is accepted, we will schedule a date/time for you to drop off your Labrador to our veterinarian's office, completing your part in the surrender process.
