Adopted: Ryder, a 4 year old Black Male Labrador

  • Ryder-16
  • Ryder-17

Adopted: Ryder, a 4 year old Black Male Labrador, has found his forever home has the maximum number of approved families asking to meet him. We will not accept more requests until those meetings have taken place.

Here is a Bio from his foster family……..

"Ryder is a beautiful, big Black Labrador retriever. He has a head like a bear, and a heart as big as the planet. He's friendly and curious, and gets along with my family and my two Labs. He's content to play with toys or explore the back yard on his own, but then wants to come back and flop down on the floor next to my desk and the other dogs. Kind and affectionate, he's happy to hang out in his crate with the door open, and gladly sleeps there with the door closed at night while he earns full roaming privileges.

Ryder takes treats gently from my hand - which is great for such a big dog. He's learned to use the doggie door, but hasn't quite gotten the idea that he should use it as a way get outside to take care of his business. But we are working on that and he's already showing progress. He knows sit, down and no. We're working on reinforcement and learning new commands too. He's very eager to learn and please.

Ryder's size, relatively young age (3 y/o) and general bounciness means that potential adopters with small children may want to think about whether a big rambunctious young Lab is right for them at the moment.

As with all young dogs, Ryder will need love, patience, training and consistent reinforcement. He's already gotten a great start on the road to being an amazing and wonderful addition to the right family's pack. "

Adopted: Janie, a 2 year old Female Yellow Labrador

  • Janie-2
  • Janie-3
  • Janie-12
  • Janie-18
  • Janie-26
  • Janie-31

Adopted: Janie, a 2 year old Female Yellow Labrador, has found her forever home.

Here is a Bio from her foster family……..

"Janie is a sweet young girl with all the curiosity and energy of a her age. She's smart and adapted quickly to my other two Labs and the pack structure. She's eager to please but struggles occasionally with focus - as you would expect from a year-old puppy. But she makes progress daily. She loves and wants to be part of the pack, and she is extremely loyal, following me around whenever I get up from my desk. No matter what the hour or where I am going, she will come with me to make sure I am safe. She likes to curl up next to me and the rest of he pack to watch TV in the evenings. She loves playing with tennis balls and hard chew toys.

Janie knows some commands and is trained to use the doggie door. She's not thrilled with going in the crate, but will go in with a treat and a little encouragement (in the form of a bit of herding). She isnt barky, and she isnt mouthy - a pleasant surprise for a Lab! She takes treats delicately from my hand, and eats nicely. She walks fairly well on the leash. Although her initial excitement at going out makes her try to pull a little, after a few minutes she settles down and walks right beside me.

Janie is a happy, sweet, smart, curious pup. With guidance, love, training and a bit of patience, she will be a glorious addition to the family that adopts her. Families with small children may want to consider whether a rambunctious pup is right for them, and whether they're prepared to make the time needed to help Janie grow into the great girl she's already starting to become!"

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY AND THOROUGHLY BEFORE REQUESTING TO MEET CONNER, MISSY OR ROXY.
Roxy has been diagnosed with Canine Oral Papillomas.. It's common in puppies, whose immune systems aren't fully developed, and spread through saliva. Puppies like to lick!
While Roxy will naturally recover from the virus, it will take up to 8 weeks for her immune system to be completely free of it. There are no symptoms, and no medication to give, puppies simply grow out of it.
While not contagious to people, the virus is contagious to other dogs. We strongly suggest, if your home already has a dog(s), do not request to meet Roxy. She has to be kept from other dogs until the virus has run it's course, and as we don't know when she was introduced to it, it should be 8 weeks.
Please make sure you've read up on Canine Oral Papillomas and speak with your vet before submitting a Meet Request for Roxy.

"Roxy is simply a little bundle of love. While she can be timid at first, she wants to snuggle and cuddle with humans. She's happy to lay with you, in between puppy play time, and take naps. Roxy is learning to adjust to a kennel, and while not thrilled to go, she quickly settles down. Roxy is doing great on potty training, quick to learn, and is close to sleeping through the night. As Roxy is still a puppy, she's incredibly mouthy, curious and likes to run and play, and will need a strong leader to teach her through the puppy stages of life. Roxy is with her sister Missy, and loves to play. As we have to have them separated entirely, we cannot say how she is with other dogs at this point. Roxy will need a family experienced with young, energetic Labs and committed to providing her with structure, boundaries and training. Roxy will make a great companion, as she loves people."

"Conner is a typical playful, energetic puppy. He's very quick to learn and will do great being trained to know boundaries, rules and proper behavior. Conner does not like the kennel, but we're working on feeling more comfortable. As Conner is still a puppy, he's incredibly mouthy, full of curiosity and likes to run and play, and will need a strong leader to teach him through the puppy stages of life.
