Adopted: Molly, a 10 week old Female Chocolate Labrador, has found her forever home.

Here is a Bio from her foster family……..

"PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!
Molly is a gorgeous little bundle of puppy love! As with any puppy, Molly will need to continually learn boundaries, through structure and repetition, over the next year. She is very smart, progressing well on potty training and sleeping through the night. Molly does good when crated and gives cues when she needs to go outside. Molly is active and playful, sweet and affectionate and already loves swimming and playing in water. She is still a puppy, which means there are times in the day she's a whirling dervish of mischievousness. As Molly is in her puppy stage, where everything goes in her mouth, she needs supervision to teach her good toys versus bad. Molly needs a strong leader to guide her through the puppy months, teach her appropriate behaviors and she will grow into being a great dog.
If you're interested in Molly, please make sure you're committed to training a puppy over the course of the next year. Molly is a blank slate, eager to learn and ready to be taught what to do, and needs time, patience and consistency. If you have small children, under 10, in the home, please carefully consider before requesting a meeting with Molly and make sure a puppy is a good fit for your home."
MOST IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Molly has a medical condition, Hypoplastic (recessed) vulva. Read about it: Recessed Vulva

In the best interest of Molly's long term health, her mandatory spay will be delayed several months, which will require her adopting family to be diligent in communication with LVLR and adhere to specific medical requirements by specific dates, strictly through LVLR's Veterinarian, without any delay or negotiation. Before requesting to meet Molly, please take time to read about the condition, talk with your veterinarian, and discuss with pertinent family members the additional requirements adopting Molly will require. It is imperative that Molly's adopting family commit to following our medical protocols and are prepared to contractually adhere to all requirements."

Adopted: Sheriff, a 10 month old Male Yellow Labrador, has found his forever home.

Here is a Bio from his foster family……..

"At 10 months old and 55 lbs., Sheriff is as lovable as they come! He is all puppy, but is house broken and has mastered the doggie door very quickly. Whereas he really hates the crate, once he is in it, he does not fight it and he sleeps in it through the night. Of course, in true Labrador fashion, he is curious about everything and ready to play as soon as he wakes up. We're working on leash training, which he evidently has never had, but he is a quick learner and has already come a long way, in just 48 hours.

Sheriff needs a home where he can snuggle up to someone. He loves to be held, have his head and chest rubbed. He is so happy being near to you. He's definitely a hands-on kind of child. He is all about being loved!

He would probably do well in a home with another dog, but certainly not necessary. He still likes to chew (he's a puppy) so any children would need to be taught how to put a chew toy in his mouth if he goes for something he shouldn't have. . . and he's been very good about this.

Sheriff is so adorable and will make someone a truly wonderful pet/child/friend!!"

"Harry is an adorable little spitfire! As with any puppy, Harry will need to continually learn boundaries, through structure and repetition, over the next year. He is very smart, progressing well on potty training and getting better sleeping through the night. We're working on crate training, as it is a very new concept for him, but he improves with consistency. Harry is active and playful, sweet and affectionate, but he is still a puppy, which means there are times in the day he's a whirling dervish of mischievousness. As Harry is merely 3 months old, he's in his puppy stage of EVERYTHING going in his month, although his favorite item this week is socks. Harry needs a strong leader to guide him through the puppy months, teach him appropriate behaviors and he will grow into being a great dog.
If you're interested in Harry, please make sure you're committed to training a puppy over the course of the next year. Introducing….7 Yellow Labrador Puppies!

  • LVLR Puppies-14
  • LVLR Puppies-15
  • LVLR Puppies

There are times in the year when our rescue looks quiet, often because we have Labs going through medical care that take a little longer to become available for adoption.
January and February 2017 were one of those times.

We’d like to introduce you all 7 little puppies. Born to Giselle, a wonderful 18 month old female yellow Labrador, the litter of 7 (4 females, 3 males, all yellow) will soon be available for adoption. Giselle was rescued from a rural shelter, and with the help of several volunteers, transported to our local vet for a normal medical evaluation. Unbeknownst to all, this bundle of Labrador love was carrying her own little bundles of love!

A pregnant Labrador and litter of puppies are a first for Las Vegas Labrador Rescue, and we couldn’t be more excited to share this story with everyone.

On February 5th, Giselle gave birth to 7 healthy puppies, 4 females and 3 males. Ela, Dallas, Kayla and Summer are the females; Mack, Rowdy and Bubba are the males. With detailed medical care, lots of extra hands and more love that can be quantified, Giselle and her puppies have thrived since birth, and are now almost 6 weeks old. There are lots of bouncing, happy tales to share. Please take a look at our channel, to see video from birth to today. LVLR Puppy Channel

The 7 puppies nor Giselle will be available for adoption until after April 17th, 2017. LVLR is committed to the health and well-being of these Labs, and will take as much time as needed to ensure Giselle and her puppies are given the best foundation for successful adoptions. As always, our first concern for any of our Labs is finding the right home for a Lab, finding the right family committed to the needs of a given Lab. 10-12 week old puppies require a greater commitment of time, energy and training for them to develop into the Labrador they’re meant to be, and it is crucial for any prospective adopters to understand the needs of a young Labrador.

How exciting! LVLR has 7 puppies (4-Girls/3-Boys) who are ready to meet families that are approved to adopt and committed to our process. Before submitting your meet & greet request, we need you to be informed, understand & agree with the protocols & adoption policies with these puppies, as they are different from our standard protocols. Please note the adoption fee is $500 per Labrador puppy. Following directions and paying close attention to details are a prerequisite for anyone wishing to adopt 1 of the 7 puppies. While this is all extremely exciting, all 7 of these puppies will require a much higher level of supervision, care and thought than our older Labrador Retrievers. LVLR’s intentions are to make the entire process fun and exciting while maintaining our core policies, standards and values. At the end of the day, it’s always about the Rescue Dog. We sincerely appreciate you wanting to adopt one of our wonderful Labrador Retrievers. Please read everything carefully BEFORE submitting a request, as LVLR has separate, specific requirements for the adoption of these puppies.

UPDATE: Due to the overwhelming interest in the puppies, we will not be accepting any more new applications to adopt one of the litter. We will continue to accept adoption applications for any available Labs outside of the the puppies.

"AJ is a sweet boy with lots of energy. He loves to be around people and follows me all over the house. AJ likes to play tug of war and he loves to run. He gets along great with other dogs. He is kennel trained and should be kenneled when home alone. He is potty trained and loves going for walks although he will need some training as he pulls. AJ also loves going for rides in the car, getting on the couch and sleeping in the bed with me. Overall, AJ is a great dog and will make a great companion. He is very special and will make a fantastic addition to any family.
AJ does have cataracts; while he has lost substantial vision in one eye, his other eye is good, and he takes eye drops routinely as a preventive measure for losing any further vision "

Another wonderful Happy tail for LVLR, Logan, formerly Brody.

"Hi LVLR!
I'm thrilled to share with you our happy tail about our beloved fur baby Logan! We just passed our one year "adopt-a-versary" and I thought this is a good time to share how happy we are with our fur baby.

Logan was the first puppy we met through your organization and it was love at first site! When he came to meet us he was friendly, hyper and full of love. We wanted a friend for our eight year old black lab, Shea and Logan is the perfect companion. He has brought out the fun in our older pup again.

Logan loves to snuggle, play fetch and play with everyone and anyone! He's the biggest lap dog you'll ever meet and we're so thankful we have him to snuggle with.

I have included a picture of Logan snuggling with our older pup, Shea and a picture of him lounging on the couch.

Thank you,
Kelley W."

We received this heartwarming Happy Tail on Roger, formerly Raja.

"Hi LVLR,
This is our Happy Tail about Raja. He was adopted by us Bill and Jordan A. last January.

We had been looking to add a lab to our family and a friend for our yellow lab Tucker (8). We had heard that people have had a great experience with Las Vegas Lab rescue. The process was great. We added Roger formerly known as Raja to our family last January.
When he first arrived he was nervous and unsure of his new environment. He would stay in our living room and just go outside when need be. After love and encouragement he gained the courage to roam freely around the house in less than a day.
Roger now enjoys laying on the couch, playing fetch, walks with his brother Tucker, and as many pets as he possible can get. He is a happy and loving dog. We are so glad he joined our family and thank you Las Vegas Lab Rescue!"

"Buddy is an awesome dog. He is one of the sweetest loving dogs I have fostered. He likes staying close by and if I get up and leave a room he is right behind me. He sleeps in the bedroom on the floor. Buddy is potty trained and has had no accidents in my home. He is very friendly with both other dogs and people and seems to be good around children. When we go for walks he wants to greet everyone that is out. Buddy has basic commands down but will need training. He is tall enough to take food off of the table and/or counters, and at 132lbs, he will need a large crate as his safe space. He does not like going in the crate, but once he is in there he is fine.

Buddy is starting to learn commands and is eager to learn more (or maybe to get treats when he does what he's supposed to!) With his size and potential power, an obedience training course will be important. As a year-old puppy, now is a great time for this to start.

Buddy will make a great companion for anyone that is willing to give him the love he deserves. A great home for this big boy will have room for him to run and a family that will take the lead in transitioning Buddy from a wonderful puppy into an even better adult!"

Adopted: Bo, a 2 year old Male Black Labrador, has found his forever home.

Here is a Bio from his foster family……..

"The first thing you should know about Bo, he's a 6 month old puppy trapped in a full size body! He is high energy, and will benefit greatly from immediate training.
Bo is very sweet, affectionate and loves to be with people. While he hasn't had much structure or attention before coming to LVLR, he is very responsive to guidance, correction, and wants to please you. He loves chasing a ball and playing as much as he loves being next to you. He still has a lot of the typical Lab puppy tendencies, being mouthy, jumping up, counter surfing and general playfulness. As his foster parents, we're working on managing his energy with routine walks, play time, re-directing behavior and crating. Bo walks well on a leash, improving every walk. He does well overnight crated and is getting better every day. Bo has been very good with our dogs, but can be overwhelming with his energy, and should be watched for correction. We have no idea how he'd be with cats, as we have none. Bo would also need supervision around small children. He's happy & playful, but isn't aware of his size or energy.
If you're considering meeting Bo, please make sure you're committed to training with him. He needs guidance, boundaries, structure, security, consistency and a strong leader to help him become the best version of Bo. He is a wonderful, happy boy, and needs a family willing to commit to his long term well-being by working on his social skills and manners."

Adopted: Sampson, a 9 year old Male Chocolate Labrador, has found forever home.
Sampson was rescued from a local area shelter and like all of our rescues, was given a thorough examination by our veterinary staff. It was discovered that Sampson had soft tissue sarcoma. These masses originate from a variety of soft tissue and they tend to be locally invasive with low chance of metastasis. Sampson has had surgery to remove all tumor cells, and there were no signs of metastatic cancer. He should have a check up every 3 months for the next 2 years to monitor any changes, and if there is no evidence of cancer returning, he is cancer free! Aside from the lump that has been removed, Sampson is healthy and happy.

Here is a Bio from his foster family……..

"Sampson is sturdy, resilient, strong, compliant, energetic and curious. He is completely house trained including ‘taking care of business’ outside, not jumping up on counters, nor any interest in chewing on furniture, shoes, wires, power cords and socks. Minimal appetite for human food. Does like peanut butter. He sleeps through the night, will sleep with you in bed, but will also sleep at your bedside. He typically follows me around the house so I always know where he is. If you don’t see him, just yell “Come,” and his response is virtually automatic.

He will lick your hands and face when you show him the smallest kindness. Quite affectionate. He likes car rides and is well behaved. He is easy to crate. Just open the door and he goes right in. When he gets frightened, agitated or upset, petting Sampson and pulling him close will calm him down.

Sampson is around 100 pounds and needs to keep losing weight. He can get into a typical SUV through the passenger door but would have a hard time, currently, jumping into one from the back. When full of energy, or curious about something, he pulls on the leash. He is strong and low to the ground. Some obedience training would be very helpful here. He does not like cats. I do not have a pool so I do not know how he responds to water. His only activity so far has been walks on a leash.

Sampson will make a great companion for an individual or family interested in nurturing and playing with this wonderful canine who has a great heart. "

"Buddy is friendly lab, always eager to meet new people. He's fully house trained and knows how to sit. Buddy recently lost his human, but despite this he has adjusted well to his new foster home in only a day. He is very low maintenance; doesn't bark, doesn't jump, and is very good about staying out of trouble. He enjoys "helping" with chores around the house or just relaxing in the sun.

He is very much still an excitable lab though, with years of experience being active. Buddy is enthusiastic when you get the leash out and will be happy to lead you on a walk any time of day. When you open the car door he'll jump in without hesitation, always excited to go someplace new.

He is quite the loyal dog, he'll always be at your side when he becomes part of your family, which doesn't take long! great dog he is bound to be!"

Adopted: Shadow, a 1 year old Male Black Labrador, has found his forever home.

Here is a Bio from his foster family……..

"Shadow is a sweet, happy boy once he becomes secure in his surroundings. He was timid at first, to be expected as he languished in a shelter for a couple of months before coming to LVLR. As Shadow has learned that he is now loved and safe, his personality is coming out. While only 1, he's calmer than most his age, but very receptive to learning. He does well in his crate, tentative to get in a car, but once in, he is calm. He is good with other dogs when introduced properly. We are treating him like a young puppy with no potty training experience, and manage his time with trips outside to reinforce proper behavior. We've had no accidents in the house or crate, and will continue build trust and routine until he's adopted to ensure a good foundation for success.
Shadow is becoming more & more affectionate as his trust grows, sneaking in puppy kisses after dinner or play time. We do suspect that as he becomes more comfortable, the mischievous puppy tendencies will come out, being mouthy and bouncy, but totally believe even a little training will go a long way with Shadow. He's a bit fluffier (like a flat coat retriever), has an adorable white stripe on his chest and white around his muzzle to match! Shadow is so very loving already, he will make a wonderful companion for any family."

Adopted: Buddy Junior, an 11 month old Male Yellow Labrador, has found his forever home.

Here is a Bio from his foster family……..

"Buddy is an 11 month old Yellow Labrador retriever with a bit of something else that his vet thinks may be Great Pyrenees. His beautiful temperament certainly supports this idea, as he has all the sweetness, curiosity and happy disposition of a Lab, and the patience, deliberateness, pack guarding characteristics of a Great Pyrenees.

Another clue about his possible ancestry is that Buddy looks like a Lab with Lab colorings and coat, but he has the body type of a much larger dog - such as the Great Pyrenees. HE is tall! He currently weighs 113 pounds, with not an extra ounce to spare. He still has some growing to do, but my guess is that his overall height and length wont change much - he will just fill out a bit more.

Buddy is friendly, gets along with my other dogs. He is learning how to be a member of the pack instead of its leader, which is what he appears to have been in his short past. He loves to lean on us and be petted. He doesnt jump, eat shoes or anything else he finds on the floor, or counter-surf even though at his height, this would be a breeze. He is starting to learn about toys and hasnt (yet) shown a desire to shred them to bits or eat them, which would be normal puppy behaviour! He is curious and likes to roam in my back yard, but always comes back to be near the pack so that he can do his job of protecting us.

Despite his size, Buddy is still just a pup. He doesnt know many commands, but is eager to learn. He uses the doggie door and is completely house trained. He's curious about the pool but hasnt yet been introduced to swimming. Buddy wants to please, and with his size and potential power, an obedience training course will be very important. As will having a confident, loving pack leader who has the time and desire to work with this puppy and help shape him into the great dog he is bound to be!"

Adopted: Charlie, a 1 year old Male Black Labrador, has found his forever home.

Here is a Bio from his foster family……..

"Charming Charlie is just wonderful! He's very sweet, tall & lean and happy to be around people. Charlie has that puppy energy, he's playful, mouthy, curious, affectionate and eager to please. He's smart, quick to learn and loves to play or sniff everything down. He would really benefit from some training, learning how to direct that energy correctly. Charlie is house trained and does well with other dogs when properly introduced. We have no cats nor small children. He is good in a crate when we're out of the house, but we're working on overnight stays as he just wants to be with us. Charlie would be great for an active family, willing to work on his manners and develop his boundaries. Charlie is really just full of puppy love & kisses, and will make a great companion."

We received this amazing & funny Happy Tail for Hank:

"Hank’s Happy Tail
We had been looking for a male yellow lab off and on for awhile, on the waiting list for over 3 years with the Lab Rescue. Finally LVLR had two brothers come into their rescue and we were lucky enough to adopt Hank on May 23rd, 2016. He got along immediately with our two older golden retrievers, Gus (10) and Booger (7). We are volunteer pet sitters for the Golden Retriever Rescue of S. NV so we had to be sure that Hank would welcome the ‘guests’ into our home as well as the old guys do. We had nothing to worry about! He is the perfect host, playing and sharing his toys with everyone.
Hank sure loves riding in the car… In fact the first time he saw my car in the garage, he jumped straight up and through the open driver’s side window and sat in the passenger seat! It took a treat or two to get him out, and now he knows how to wait until he’s invited into the car. In the past 90 days he has brought a huge grin to my face more times than I can count. He also loves to share the bed with us, although we generally don’t allow it. He has learned that if he waits until we are asleep, he can jump up like a ninja and sleep at the foot of the bed without us even realizing it.
Hank likes living in our semi-rural neighborhood where he can watch rabbits in the front yard, and eat horse-droppings on our walks. I’m trying to get him to stop that…
He didn’t take to the pool at all when we first got him, but I have slowly gotten him to get in and swim across by himself. He is funny to watch because instead of gliding in like Gus & Booger do, Hank kind of cannon-ball launches his whole body off the steps and goes completely under water. He has no problem sticking his whole head under and getting toys that sink off the first step of the pool.
We look forward to sharing our lives with this wonderful dog for as long as we are allowed to. Now that we have him (or he has us) we can’t imagine our lives without him.

D & T"

Here is a Bio from her foster family……..

"Katie is a wonderfully sweet but very shy young girl. She is very timid when meeting new people, taking awhile to feel safe in a new environment. She is quiet, respectful and good-natured. Katie will need a family to show her extra love and patience while she builds confidence and security with her new home. Katie is good with other dogs, rides well in a car, and sleeps through the night in a crate. "

Adopted: Molly, an 8 month old Black Female Labrador, has found her forever home.

Here is a Bio from her foster family……..

"Molly is a very sweet, very well-behaved lab. She immediately fit right in with our dogs, and is such a love! She shows no signs of food or toy aggression. She is kennel trained, and sleeps through the night. She has puppy energy, but is also quite mellow for being only 8 months old. She learned how to use the doggie door right away, and has had zero accidents in the house. She is not a chewer at all - as stated earlier, she is remarkably well-behaved. Molly walks well on the leash, and knows basic commands such as sit, stay, wait, down, and off. Molly will make a great addition to any home. "

Adopted: Cali, a 5 year old Female Black Labrador, has found her forever home.

Here is a Bio from her foster family……..

"Cali is a very laid back, calm 5-year old lab. Her previous owner had her professionally trained, and it shows. She knows her basic commands such as sit, laydown, and paw. She is housetrained and is not shy about letting you know that she needs to go. She also will go into her crate on command, and loves it when you come home and let her out.

She doesn’t seem to be food motivated, but loves attention and will sit next to you for hours while you watch TV. She especially likes having her head scratched and her belly rubbed. She is also protective of her human and will follow you around the house like a little shadow.

She walks well, but occasionally needs to be reminded that she shouldn’t pull on her leash. She gets along well with strangers and strange dogs.

Overall, Cali is a great lab, and would make a great family companion"

Adopted: Sable, an 8 year old Black Female Labrador, has found her forever home.

Here is a Bio from her foster family……..

"Sable is a petite, lovely-natured Lab who is very kind and gentle. She is currently recovering from ear surgery, doing well, but a little timid when you first meet her. Sable also has been hard of hearing since her surgery, but is improving. Sable has recently lost her human and is adjusting well to a new environment. As she gets more comfortable, her personality, sweet and calm, starts to shine through. Sable does well with other dogs, pays no attention to cats, doesn't bark and sleeps through the night. Sable is still learning house training, and will need a family with a little patience as she learns new surroundings. She loves a good car ride and walks in the grass. Sable will make a great companion for just about any family."
